Delbert Morrison John Orrell Arthur Hubert ******************************************************************************************************* Delbert Morrison Born In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 05/05/2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Delbert Morrison passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, Delbert was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Clements) Morrison. He was employed with the Dominion Store for a number of years as Produce Manager. He later was co-owner of a local construction company. In his younger years he was very active in hockey and baseball, with his favorite NHL team being the Boston Bruins. Delbert will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Estelle (MacDonald); sons, Keith (Bernadette), David (Arlene); daughters, Patricia (Gary) LeBlanc, Krista Kachafanas; eight cherished grandchildren, Curtis, Matthew, Nicole, Robin, Tyler, Andreas, Markus, Lucas and one great granddaughter, Gracie; sisters, Anne (Ronnie) Martin, Evelyn (Mick) MacIntyre; sister-in-law, Viola Morrison; as well as many nieces and nephews. A special mention is extended to Alice and Nick. The family would also like to say thank you to Home Care, Theresa 'Winnie' Morgan, VON, Palliative Care, Dr. Rehman and Janet. Besides his parents, Delbert was predeceased by an infant daughter, Carol; brother, Jerry Morrison and son-in-law, Bernie Parent. In honoring Delbert's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church hall, all are welcome. Online condolences to the Morrison family are available through www.vjmcgillivray.ca ************************************ John Orrell Born In: North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Born On: 11/10/1941 Passed Away In: North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 05/05/2011 It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, John Orrell. John passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the C.B. Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 11, 1941 in North Sydney, the only son of the late Edward (Teddy) and Verna (Clarke) Orrell. John started his work career as a stevedore with CN Marine. He later moved to work for Weldon MacDonald Backhoe & Trucking in North Sydney, and retired from the Public Works Department of the CBRM after 25 years of service. In his retirement he enjoyed various metal and woodworking projects, and could get lost for hours in the basement working on his model boats. John is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 47 years, Virginia (Bond) Orrell; his son Eddie (Jane) Orrell, North Sydney; his daughters, Karen (Frank) Marks of East Lawrencetown, NS and Lesley (Steve) Taylor, Lower Sackville, NS; his five grandchildren, Bhreagh and Bryden Orrell, Jamie and Greg Taylor and Mackenzie Marks; his two sisters, Marylyn Shaikh of Sydney Mines, Sharon (John) Bachynski of Lower Sackville. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Dr. Moe Shaikh. Visitation for John will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Miss me - but let me go ************************************ Arthur Hubert Born In: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away In: Moncton, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 04/05/2011 It is with great sadness that we the family of Arthur announce his passing on May 4, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Sydney, Arthur was the son of George and Viola (Long) Hubert. Arthur retired from a career of carpentry and woodworking which he truly enjoyed. Arthur will be sadly missed by his wife Ruby (Blakney) of Moncton, son, Arthur, brothers George, Halifax, Keith, Sydney, sister Judy Terry, Sydney, niece Karla Terry, nephews John David and Steven Hubert, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna and Brian Blakney of Sackville, NB, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Arthur was predeceased by his brother John in 2006. At Arthur's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
