Recently, after consultation with his family and caregivers, he directed his medical treatments be stopped. More recently, he was a member of St. Anthony Daniel parish, where he served at funerals well into his 80s. He was also an avid trout fisherman, having spent 25 summers in his trailer at Lake Ainslie. While he golfed and bowled in his younger years, his favourite escape was in reading westerns. Quiet and personable, he will be remembered for his sense of irony and unexpected witty remarks. Archie's family hope that all will take comfort in his courageous decision and sense of fulfilment.
