God called home our gentle, but strong mother, Thursday, July 14, 2011 while surrounded by her loving family at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, Mom was the daughter of the late Roderick 'Roddie' and Isa Stubbard. Mom was employed with Highland Fisheries for 30 years. Prior to her illness, she worked very hard at Fat Boys in Dominion. Mom was the most loving, giving and hard working woman. She enjoyed spoiling her 13 grandchildren and looked forward to meeting, her soon to be, new addition. Mom's siblings meant the world to her. You could always count on her kind words and support whenever needed and never asked or expected anything in return. Her children and her husband were her life, as she was ours and we will miss her dearly. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life; holiday decorating, gardening and relaxing while enjoying a cup of coffee in her gazebo. Mom will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 44 years, Stanley Saccary; daughters, Lillian Saccary (Raymond), Dartmouth, Nicole Burton, Glace Bay; sons, Stan (Lorraine), Joseph (Tammy), both of Glace Bay, Brian (Melissa), Guelph, Ont.; brothers, George, Erville (Billy); sisters, Josie (Sonny), Lillian (Sam), Carol (James), Maurina (Freddy), Gerry (Ernel) and Velma (Al). Also surviving are cherished grandchildren, Amy, Noel, Kayla, Brittany, Ashley, Jordan, Seleina, Kyle, Connor, Nolan, Jennie, Leah; great grandchildren, Grant and Baby Britten and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her parents-in-law, Mose and Alice Saccary; brother, Shelly; nephew, Little Jimmy; sister-in-law, Ann Stubbard; brothers-in-law, Lockie MacLeod and Leonard Paulin.
