Barb William Gibbs, died 1926 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton County Item can be found in Registration Year: 1926 - Book: 81 - Page: 474 His parents are shown as John GIBBS, born in England and what appears to be Liza KENNEDY born in Nova Scotia. I have another son, Michael GIBBS who married Esther TOWNSEND a distant relative in my family tree. You mention that John and Eliza had six children, which means I am missing four at this time. Can you fill me in the other children. I do not have access to all my data base at this time but am returning home in a short period of time and maybe I can find some additional information that might help us both. Don: I have a John Gibbs, Big Lorraine, Born: 1815 m Eliza, (LNU). His father was James, b: 20 Mar 1768 m: Ann (LNU) had 11 children, and his grandfather was Abraham m: Christian (LNU). Is it possible that this Eliza, is Eliza Kennedy. I'll check and see what else I have, hope to hear from you. Rusty and Don, I too have James Gibbs and Ann (LNU) as my ancestors. Where did you get the birth date of 20 March 1768 for James? I guestimated his birth date as ~1764 based on the census of 1818 where it stated that he was 'age 54, living on island 15 years, Country of birth- west of England, with 5 children'. In searching just now, I found on the LDS IGI website Abraham and Christian Gibbs along with their 10 children and also some of the Stacey family. Is this where you found your info? Any help with the town or parish in England of James birth would be greatly appreciated.
