Halifax Herald January 22, 2005 BENOIT, Leonard Joseph - 53, Plymouth, Pictou Co., died Thursday, January 20, 2005, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of Alexander H. and Theresa A. (Benoit) Benoit, Pomquet. He lived in Plymouth for the past 30 years, having previously resided in Pomquet. He was a member of St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. He was retired from Michelin after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and president of the Plymouth community centre. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Ann McFarlane, Plymouth; son, Daniel (Charlene), Plymouth; daughters, Angela (Stephen) Chisholm, Hubbards; Nadine (Faron), Halifax; grandchildren, Kelsey Benoit, Brandon Benoit, Dylan Chisholm; brothers, James (Margie), Lower South River; Edmund (Maria), New Glasgow; Robert (Rochelle) Pomquet; Charles (Rose Marie), James River; Gerard (Darlene), Abercrombie; sisters, Yvonne (Eddie) MacNeil, Guelph, Ont.; Elaine (Robert) Delorey, Lower South River; Janette Benoit, Pomquet; Jacqueline (Kevin) Knocton, Pomquet; 26 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nephew, Michael Benoit. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church with Father Victor Ozoufuanya officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the Palliative Care Society of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow or Canadian Cancer Society.
