Dear Geoff, Thank you for your shrewd reply, but Listers have been telling me that there were no civil registrations, such as death certificates, kept or made for the year 1892! I'm hoping I might get a land petition or land grant record for him, amongst seven petitioning Donald MacGregors or McGregors. Have you ever received one? Where did you get it, and is there any info on the document to identify the land for which the petition or land grant was made?
