    3. Chronicle Herald August 18, 2007 PURCELL, Dorothea Rose "Dot" - 81, died peacefully August 17, 2007, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, where she was well cared for during her 10 year stay. (Chris), Halifax; Edward (Christina), Kenneth, both of Antigonish; Elnora (Roy) MacNeil, Dartmouth; Paula Purcell, Ottawa; Robert (Lorraine), Shawn, both of Calgary; Thomas, Terry Neary (Robert), both of Fairmont. She was predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Gertrude. In addition to her children, Dot is survived by grandchildren, Patrick (Lori), David (Ellen), Stephanie, Vanessa, Matthew and Nathan Purcell, Colin and Gregory MacNeil, Jeffrey and Amy Smith, and Justin Neary. Joseph, Frank, Arthur, Lewis and Leo Grant, and by sisters, Margaret Reddy and Marjorie Grant. Dot was educated in Brierly Brook and Mount St. Bernard College. After her schooling, she worked a short time at Antigonish 5 to 1.00, and later in life, at the Wandlyn Motor Inn and St. F.X. Bookstore. Throughout her life she was very active in the Progressive Conservative Party which she thoroughly enjoyed over the years and as a result, created many lifelong friends. Dot's rural roots prepared her well for her role in life as devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dot will be missed for her quick wit, great sense of humour, loyalty to her friends and family, her snippets of wisdom to many, her strength in devotion and care to all her family and her ability to enjoy life. She will missed by many. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Rev. John Barry presiding.
