Chronicle Herald September 24, 2007 MacPHERSON, Mary - 47, North Riverside, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 22, 2007, in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, after a courageous effort to overcome a battle with multiple sclerosis. Born in Marydale, Antigonish Co., she was a daughter of Theresa (Chisholm) MacDonald and the late John L. MacDonald. For over 25 years, until her illness, Mary was actively involved with the Hospital Auxiliary of Guysborough Memorial Hospital. While her health allowed her to drive she canvassed for many charitable organizations in the county. She was actively involved with St. Patrick's Ladies Aid and taught religious education in the parish for many years. Mary belonged to the Argyle Celtic Association and had a great love and passion for children and pets. She was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated "hockey mom". She is survived by her husband, Myles, and son, Michael (Rachel), North Riverside; godson, Kristopher Cleary, Guysborough; brothers, John Angus, Marydale; Hughie (Mary), Sudbury, Ont.; Daniel, Marydale; sister, Debbie, Marydale; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Jennie MacPherson, North Riverside. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Billy MacPherson; grandparents, Dan Alex and Jennie MacDonald, and Angus and Mary Ann Chisholm. Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Andrews Church, St. Andrews, on Tuesday at 11 a.m., Rev. Anthony O'Connor and Rev. Daniel MacDonald presiding. Burial in St. Andrews Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or Milford Haven Home for Special Care.
