The passing of Dr. Raymond A. MacLean will be noted with sorrow by the many who have benefited from his scholarship and his obvious love of Antigonish history and culture, as well as the larger Atlantic Canada scene. I was privileged to meet and work with Ray as co-editor of Drummer on Foot. His soft-spoken manner, combined with his encyclopedic knowledge made for conversations that were always interesting and informative. He will be sorely missed.
