Halifax Herald April 12, 2004 DAVIS, Muriel - 91, Afton, Antigonish Co., died April 9, 2004, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Port Hawkesbury. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Evelyn (Bullock) Strople. She was a teacher and taught in Cape Breton schools prior to her marriage. She resided in the Afton-Bayfield community most of her life, where she was actively involved in the community and an active member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Bayfield, and the Eastern Star, Faith Chapter 54. She was receptionist at the office of Doctors Steeves and Hickey medical practice in Antigonish. Surviving are daughter, Ardie (Bill) Rowan, Port Hawkesbury; sons, Eric (Bonnie), Ponoka, Alta.; Ralph (Isabelle), Thunder Bay, Ont.; Allison, Manchester, N.H.; John, Victoria, B.C.; Joe (Melisha), Halifax; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Beverly (Ellen) Strople, Tantallon; Donald (June) Strople, Spryfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Joseph; brothers, William and Gerald. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Bayfield, Rev. Catherine Boubonnier officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
