    1. Re: Frederick PETITPAS & Appoline PERRAULT
    2. Kay, Based on your note, it seems quite possible to me that this 1881 census entry is for Frederick as a widower. Note that dau. The older children + Sophie who would be abt age 20 in 1881 is not listed with the family. And I think that "Jane" seems a good candidate for Eugenie: Possible 1881 census, Tracadie, Antigonish Co., Nova Scotia; Family History Library Film 1375812; NA Film Number C-13176; District 21; Sub-district i; [Household 87]; all listed as born in Nova Scotia; ethnic origin: French; Roman Catholic: - Frederick PETTIPAS, widower, male, age 50 [implies b. 1831]; occupation: Farmer - Mary PETTIPAS, female, age 23 [implies b. 1858]; [Mary b. 1859] - Jane PETTIPAS, female, age 16 [implies b. 1865]; [Eugenie b. 1864?] - Jannet PETTIPAS, female, age 12 [implies b. 1869]; [Angelic b. 1868?] [In 1881, dau. Marguerite is married & living in Havre Boucher at Household 300] If this Frederick PETITPAS is the one who married Henriette DESLAURIERS/DELOREY, that marriage took place between 1881 census & 1886; [son Joseph was born Jun 1887]. MIGNIER]; m. Appoline/Marie Appoline PERRAULT b. Jan 1825, d. 1868 [dau. of Michel PERRAULT & Marie-Sophie DESLAURIERS]. Children:      Marguerite b. 6 Jan 1853 Tracadie, NS; m. 1875 William PETITPAS      Angelic b. 11 Jun 1868 Tor Bay, Guysborough Co., NS. I think this couple has a dau. Eugenie b. 2 Dec 1864; parents listed as Frederick PETITPAS & Marie PERRAULT, but I believe it is the same couple. Did Frederick remarry after Appoline died? Is he the same Frederick who  married Harriet DESLAURIERS [Family 87 in 1901 census]? Can anyone confirm if I have the correct census listings for this Frederick?      <snip>      Possible listing in 1891 census, Linwood [Lenw], Antigonish Co., Nova Scotia; 1-story, 3-room house of wood construction; [Household 97]; all listed as: born in Nova Scotia; parents born in Nova Scotia; Roman Catholic; origin: French: - Fred PETIPAS, married, male, head, age 50 [implies b. 1840]; occupation: farmer - Harriet PETIPAS, married, female, wife, age 42 [implies b. 1849] - Joseph PETIPAS, male, son, age 4 [implies b.1887] [In 1891, dau. Marguerite is married & living in Linwood at Household 53]      Possible listing in 1901 census, Linwood, Antigonish Co., Nova Scotia; County 27; Subdistrict: Linwood-g; microfilm T-6447; [Family 87]: - Frederick PETIPAS, married, male, head, born 6 Apr 1832, age 69 - Harriet PETIPAS, married, female, wife, born 5 Jun 1851, age 49 [Harriet Deslauriers?; is it d/o Etienne & Angelique BOUDROT?] - Joseph PETIPAS, single, male, son, born 5 Jun 1887, age 13 - Solomon PETIPAS, single, male, son, born 15 Feb 1891, age 10 [In 1901, dau. Marguerite is married & living in Linwood at Family 142] Thanks in advance for any help! Regards, Eileen Avery
