Born in Glen Cove, Guysborough County, he was the son of the late Patrick and Johanna (Lucas) Farrell. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ellen Rumley, four daughters, Margaret, Antigonish; rose (Mrs. John Layes), Cloverville; Mary Agnes (Mrs. Frank Locke), West Hill, Ont.; Lillian (Mrs. Joe Murphy), Lanark; a son, Patrick, Antigonish; two brothers, Jack, Pictou; and George, Pine Tree; several grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Edward, and 15 brothers and sisters. The body is at MacIsaac's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Ninian's Cathedral. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
