William was born to Abraham Rogers and Virginia Benoit. He immigrated to the United States (New York) where he married Therese (or Theresa or Thirza) Collins and had four children: William Augustus, Ida, Freeman H, and Edwin F. All of William's children relocated to the San Francisco, California area. William Abraham and Therese disappear from the census records after the children left home. William Abraham reappears as a widower living with his son, William Augustus, in California prior to his death. In one of the New York censuses, William Abraham is listed as having two nephews living with him, both with the Rogers surname. From this fact and stories of a 3rd generation William's visit to Nova Scotia where he supposedly met a relative, I believe that William Abraham had at least one brother.
