I have a John Cameron who arrived NY on the Pearl with wife Nancy Grant. They ended up in Glengarry County. I am also searching that line. Some of the females b from descendants of 'my' Charles b1783. carried thre name Grant along with their Given names. I take that as a clue. I know that Sir Ewen , 17th Chief, had a daughter who m. a Grant, and I know other Grants have m. Camerons. If the Scottish naming pattern was fillowed ther first son would be Jsmes (which it was) and it was assumed so when I first came on rthe scene .
