Chronicle Herald April 12, 2007 FARRELL, Ida Jane - 83, Antigonish, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 11, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Ida was predeceased by her husband, John H. Farrell. Born in Bayfield, Antigonish Co., Ida was a daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Gerrior) MacMillan. Ida was an employee of the Goodman Company Ltd. for 32 years, a receptionist for St. Martha's School of Nursing and Mount St. Bernard. Ida was a faithful member of St. Ninian's Parish and CWL and the Sodality of Our Blessed Lady "Children of Mary" Tracadie. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ida will forever be missed by her children, Arnold (Debi), Antigonish; Geraldine (Perry) Blaeser, Canmore, Alta.; Kenneth, Lochaber, Antigonish Co.; Monica, Houston, Tex.; grandchildren, Erin (Bruce) MacPherson, Heather (Dale) Stewart and Kelly Farrell, Antigonish; Tim Farrell, Calgary, Alta.; Courtney and Dane Blaeser, Canmore, Alta.; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Calum, Mairead and Bree MacPherson, and Ava Stewart, Antigonish. Ida is survived by sisters, Margaret (Fern) Beaulieu and Barbara Yorke, Ontario; brothers, Anthony MacMillan, Halifax; and Walter MacMillan, Antigonish. She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy MacMillan, Kathleen Bonvie, Veronica Kell, Claire MacLellan, Mamie MacDonald; brother, Ronald MacMillan; grandson, Peter John Blaeser (Canmore, Alta.). Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Ida's life on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Rev. John Barry and Rev. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Resource Room, St. Martha's Regional Hospital.
