Chronicle Herald April 21, 2007 RENNIE, Dianne E. - 60, Pomquet Point, Antigonish Co., passed away peacefully on April 19, 2007, at home surrounded by family. Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of Annie (Rogers) DeYoung and the late Arthur DeYoung. Dianne was employed as credit advisor at Central Supplies, Antigonish and previously had been employed as credit manager with Nova Collections for over 30 years. She was very active in her community and church. She was president of Pomquet Ladies Club for over 25 years, was a recipient of the Lieutenant Governors Award, was recognized by the Municipality of Antigonish for her volunteer work and received an Honorary Diploma from Ecole Acadienne de Pomquet. She was instrumental in the establishment of the new Ecole Acadienne de Pomquet and actively participated in the Historic Society, Pomquet Winter Carnival Committee, and numerous other community organizations. She was an active member of Ste. Croix Parish where she served as Eucharistic Minister, lector and a member of the parish choir. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, John Leo; children, Shelley (Dwayne Mackie) Duggan, Dominion; Sheldon (Rhonda), Pomquet; Sherri (Richie) Connors, Antigonish; grandchildren, Eileen, Ashley, Emma, Randy, Justine, Marcus, Luke, Brittany and Brandon; sisters, Marie (Robert) Myette, Tracadie; Joanie (Charles) Delorey, Pomquet; Marcelline (Jimmy) Doiron, Pomquet; Rita (Clem) Chisholm, Lower Sackville; Helen (Frank) Glenn, Pomquet; Peggy (Allen) Smith, Winnipeg; brothers, Joe (Helen), Afton; Clarence (Mary Ann), Halifax; John (Donna), Westville; Willie (Ann Marie), Brierly Brook; sister-in-law, Doris Doiron, Pomquet, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald "Dodo" and Jim. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, today from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in Ste. Croix Church, Pomquet with Rev. P.J.
