But he did not come in 1801. My Donald was b 1742/3 in Inverness-shire, Scotland and was at Louisbourg and the Plains of Abraham, discharged in 1763 and eventually got beck to Scotland. The land grant came through about 1783 at which time he was on the Hector listed as serving on the Plains and being the son of John of Fassiefern. He is said to have drowned 1796. I did a lot of searching of NS data and handed it to a researcher but nothing more than I recounted in the ist place has come of it.My reply to Thpmas has some other info.
