Mary Chaplain The Chronicle-Herald/The Mail-Star BENOIT, Joseph Angus - 73, Linwood, Antigonish County, died December 16,1992,in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Tracadie, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Henry and Annie (Myette) Benoit. He worked as a landscaper for many years in the 1970's. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Tracadie. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Theresa MacKenzie; two daughters, Nancy, Antigonish; Ann (Mrs. James DeCoste),Toronto; two sons, Carl, Victor, both of Toronto; two sisters, Agnes Kinney,Linwood; Alice Bulanda, Hamilton, Ont.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a son, Paul; three sisters, Mayme, Elizabeth, Catherine;four brothers, Martin, Norman, Hubie, Wilfred. The body is in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, visiting 2-5, 7-10 p.m. today, where funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Kyte Gillis officiating. Spring burial will be in parish cemetery. He was a carpenter, renovating many of the alter sanctuaries in parish churches in the Diocese of Antigonish. He also worked with the maintenance staff in St. Francis Xavier University and Bethany Motherhouse, Antigonish. He was an avid sports fisherman. He was a member of Carpenters and Joiners Union and St. Ninian's Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Davidson; four sons, Charles, Lower Sackville; Bill, Truro; Ken, Fall River; Andre, Dartmouth; six daughters, Donna, Antigonish; Lois (Mrs. Louis Hudson), Clydesdale, Antigonish County; Darlene (Mrs. Steve Richard),Dartmouth; Kathy (Mrs. Peter MacEachern), MacArras Brook, Antigonish County,Mary Theresa (Mrs. Rick Grant), Lower Sackville; Sharon, Moncton, N.B.; two brothers, Frank, Tracadie,Antigonish County; Clarence, Sudbury, Ont.; two sisters, Mary Delorey, Monks Head, Antigonish County; Clara Walton, Saint John, N.B.; 18 grandchildren.
