Thank you Kay! As you say, perhaps Justine (DESLAURIERS) PETITPAS, is aka Sally. I do not find any more likely possibilities. I have Justine's husband as Honore PETITPAS rather than Hubert. Was he listed in records under both of these names? As noted, next door is Justine's son, Simon H. PETITPAS & his wife Mary Victoria DESLAURIERS. With them is a widow listed as Gudy AGE. I believe this widow to be Judith BENOIT, widow of Guillaume/William EDGE. Note that Judith (BENOIT) EDGE was the maternal grandmother of Mary Victoria DESLAURIERS. 1881 census, Tracadie, Antigonish Co., Nova Scotia, Family History Library Film 1375812, NA Film no. C-13176, District 21, Subdistrict I, Page no. 44, Household no. 184; all listed as born in Nova Scotia, ethnic origin: French; Roman Catholic: - Simon PETTIPAS, married, male, age 32 [implies b. 1849], occupation: Farmer - Mary PETTIPAS, married, female, age 27 [implies b. 1854]; [Mary Victoria DESLAURIERS, dau. of Isidore DESLAURIER & Angelique EDGE] - Joseph N. PETTIPAS, male, age 1 [implies b. 1880] - Gudy AGE, widow, female, age 77 [implies b. 1803]; [possibly Judith BENOIT widow of Guillaume EDGE] Regards, Eileen In a message dated 6/29/04, [email protected] writes: > Edouard & Simon Petitpas were sons of Hubert Petitpas & Justine > Deslauriers. > > Sally as a widow may be Justine.
