Chronicle Herald March 1, 2007 McKINNON, William Joseph - 80, Maryvale, Antigonish Co., died February 26, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Maryvale, he was a son of the late William Dougall and Margaret Ann (MacDonald) MacKinnon. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Bill worked in various countries around the world but spent most of his life in Boston, retiring to Maryvale in 1977. He enjoyed a simple, peaceful lifestyle. He loved camping, spending time with his cats, and the sights and sounds of the ocean. His last few years were spent at the Highland Crest Home where he enjoyed the residents and staff. Bill is survived by sisters, Catherine Segien, California; Florence Teasdale, Maryvale; brother, Bernard MacKinnon, Vernon, B.C.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Gus and Gerald; sister, Theresa Gerrior (Maryvale). Cremation has taken place. No visitation or funeral by request. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
