Halifax Herald October 7, 2004 MacDONALD, Albert - 84, Post Road, Antigonish. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel "Albert" Patton "Pop" MacDonald. He passed away peacefully at home, October 5, 2004. Born in Lochaber, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late John Angus and Mary (Chisholm) MacDonald. He was a lifelong farmer and worked for many years at Eastern Dairyfoods and Co-op Feeds. Albert was an avid horseman who loved harness racing. He operated Post Road Stables and raced out of Truro and Sackville for many years and was a member of the U.S.T.A. He enjoyed a good strong brewed cup of tea and the company of the many friends and family who would stop in for a visit or game of cards. He will be missed on the deck as he watched the activities and construction on Post Road. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth "Betty"; sons, Everett (Ellen), Kenny (Clare), both of Antigonish; David, Ottawa; daughters, Beverly (Reg) MacLean, Pleasant Valley; Gloria (Wayne) Greene, Lochaber; Joan (Barry) Woodside, Ottawa; Brenda (George) Evely, Ottawa; Donna (Mitch) Hudson, Somers Road; Mary (Bryan) Soch, Cochrane, Alta.; Margie (Ron) MacDonald, Antigonish; Cindy (Mark) Fekete, Val d'Or, Que.; Heather (Peter) Nowlan, Bedford; Suzanne, South Korea; Dawn Michelle, Halifax; grandchildren, Kenny, Donnie, Steven, Alison, Robyn, Kerri, Andrew, Amanda, Kristy, Amy, Neldie, Mark, Haley, Steven S., Lindsay, Erin, Laura, Adam, Emma, Oliver and Sophie; great-grandchildren, Ewan, Jack and Jordyn; brother, Hughie "Hedges" MacDonald, Antigonish; sisters, Peggy MacDonald, Jean MacIntosh, both of Antigonish; Rita Fraser, Guelph, Ont. He was predeceased by son, Gerard; daughter, Noreen; grandson, Craig; brothers, Harry, John Andrew "Jick" and Lauchie; sisters, Catherine, Betty and Laura. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Rev. Andrew Boyd officiating.
