Halifax Herald October 25, 2004 DeLOREY, Jerome "Buddy" - 66, Monastery, passed away suddenly October 22, 2004, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Mattie Settlement, he was a son of the late Jerome Michael and Marguerite (Haywood) DeLorey. Buddy was a woodsman and truck driver most of his working life. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and on weekends could be found at yard sales. He will be greatly missed by his wife, the former Anne Mattie; stepdaughters, Shirley Layes, Monastery; Sheila Bowman, Ontario; Margaret Layes, Monastery; granddaughters, Lacey Bowman, Kayla Layes, Charley Bowman, Kelsey Bowman; sisters, Theresa (James) Brophy, Mulgrave; Freda (Wish) Fitzpatrick, East Tracadie; Linda (Elliot) Atkins, Halfway Cove; Violet (Jim) Walsh, Vancouver, B.C.; Joan (Buzz) Jamieson, Mattie Settlement; Mary (Wayne) Carter, Mattie Settlement; brothers, Vince (Ruth), Mattie Settlement; Alex (Bernadette), James River; Garfield (Jean), Mattie Settlement; Alfie (Norma), Mattie Settlement; Wayne (Patricia), Havre Boucher; stepbrother, Rollie (Geneva) O'Neil, Mattie Settlement; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and sister in infancy, and nephews, Darren Walsh and Michael Brophy. Visitation will be in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie, today and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, Rev.
