    3. Halifax Herald October 12, 2004 MacGILLIVRAY, Mary Jane - 96, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, formerly of Glen Road, passed away peacefully October 10, 2004, in the nursing home. Born in Thorburn, Pictou Co., she was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Charlotte (Pettipas) MacLean. For many years she was post mistress at Glen Road, Antigonish Co., a member of the CWL in St. Joseph's parish and St. Ninian's parish. Mary Jane was a wonderful lady who lead a courageous life, through many hard times, being widowed at 36, and left to raise 10 young children. She was a grandmother, great-grandmother and a great great-grandmother to many who loved her dearly. In spite of failing health the past few years, she had a keen mind and she leaves with years of great memories, especially her gentle and caring ways. Surviving are son, Buddy (Laura), Addington Forks; daughters, Mary Charlotte Malcolm, Sydney; Catherine MacNeil, Antigonish; Elizabeth Van Vlaenderen, Winnipeg; Sister Christina CSM, Bethany; Mary Margaret (Phil) Arsenault, North Grant; Florence MacGillivray, Addington Forks; Marie, Halifax; Vincentia (George) Jean, Addington Forks; half-sister, Peggy (Ian) MacAuley, Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Vincent; daughter, Rosemary; grandson, James MacNeil; three grandchildren in infancy; great-granddaughter, Gina Archibald; sisters, Catherine Stewart, Margaret MacEachern; brothers, James, Willard, William, John, Colin; half-brother, Charles; half-sister, Jean; stepmother, Grace; sons-in-law, George Malcolm, William MacNeil, Frank MacGillivray. Visitation today 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday, in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Antigonish, Rev. Andrew Boyd presiding.
