Halifax Herald October 9, 2004 MacDONALD, Dr. Roland Roderick - passed away in QEII Health Sciences Centre on October 8, 2004. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Roderick and Marcella (Dunn) MacDonald. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie, Halifax; sisters, Eleanor (the late Colin H. Chisholm), Antigonish; Pauline (Norman Brady), Hilton Head, U.S.A.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Charles. "Dr. Rollie" as he was fondly called, served in the RCAF during the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Vimy Branch. After the war he graduated from St. F.X. University and Dalhousie Dental School. While at St. F.X. he was a member of the hockey team. He practiced dentistry in Antigonish, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and was an avid bridge player. Special thanks to the staff of 8th Floor, QEII Health Sciences Centre. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 11, in Canadian Martyrs Church, Halifax. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home.
