Chronicle Herald May 28, 2007 BEATON, Roderick A. "Roddie" - 82, J.J. Carroll House, Antigonish, formerly of Southwest Mabou, passed away on May 25, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in St. Joseph's, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late Angus and Mary Sarah (MacDonald) Beaton. Roddie was a construction worker with Danene Construction of Glace Bay for many years. He also worked on a number of construction projects in the Port Hawkesbury area. He is survived by sister, Tina (Ray) Wallace, Antigonish; brothers, John (Florence), Milton, Ont.; Francis (Frances), Toronto, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Catherine, Mary Janet, and a sister in infancy, and brothers, Alexander, Donald and Finlay. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Port Hood Community Funeral Home. Funeral mass Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Port Hood, with Rev. Charles Cameron presiding.
