Halifax Herald July 8, 2004 COTTAM, M. Evelyn - 87, Smith Street, Providence, R.I., formerly of Lennon Street, R.I., a retired federal employee, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Roger Williams Medical Centre, Providence. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Cottam. Born in James River, Antigonish, a daughter of the late Mary A. (MacDonald) and Alex J. MacDonald, she had lived in Providence for 40 years. Mrs. Cottam had worked for the United States Department of Agriculture's Consumer and Marketing Services, Dairy Division, in Boston for 25 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and also a member of the Rosary and Altar Society at St. Augustine Church, Providence, R.I. She leaves a niece, Sandra Silver, Antigonish; grandnieces, Brenda Silver, Antigonish; Alison Silver, London, Ont. The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in J.F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, R.I., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Avenue. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, R.I.
