Halifax Herald February 20, 2005 THOMPSON, Mary Gertrude "Gidget" - 51, Cloverville, Antigonish Co., passed away at home on Friday, February 18, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Livingstone's Cove, Antigonish Co., she was a daughter of Christine (Chisholm) MacPherson, Antigonish Manor, and the late Hugh A. MacPherson. Mary was a loving mother and wife and a caring daughter. She was very active in every aspect of her children's lives and was often seen on the sidelines of many soccer, basketball and volleyball games, cheering on the Antigonish team. She was a member of the Shepherds of the Manor. She started her working career as a legal secretary in Ottawa, Halifax and Antigonish. For the past 20 years, she worked in the office of the Town of Antigonish. Mary enjoyed walking and cross-country skiing and especially enjoyed her two weeks of summer at the beach with her family. Mary will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Terry; daughters, Sarah, Kathleen, Laura, Leah and Emma, all at home; mother, Christene, Antigonish Manor; sister, Patsy "Pat" MacPherson, Dartmouth; aunts, Marie Brown and Gertie Doyle, Antigonish; Mary (Tommy) Chisholm, St. Andrews; uncle, Sander MacPherson, Thunder Bay, Ont. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ninian's Cathedral with Rev. Andrew Boyd presiding. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only please.
