----- Original Message ----- From: Gordon A. Watts To: Canada Census Campaign Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 4:08 PM Subject: Post 1901 Census - Resumption of Parliament Greetings All. The House of Commons of Canada resumed sitting on Monday 31 January and the Senate resumed sitting on Tuesday 1 February. While Senate debate on Second Reading of Bill S-18 is on the daily Order Paper, and will remain there until it has been dealt with, no further debate on the Bill took place at this time. Bill S-18 remains adjourned in the name of Senator Noel Kinsella [of New Brunswick] and until he speaks to the Bill or withdraws from it, no further progress will be made. The Honourable Senator Kinsella was in the Senate Chamber yesterday and spoke to other Bills. However, he made no effort to resume debate on Bill S-18. We continue to hope that he will resume debate on Bill S-18 as soon as possible. In the mean time it is important to continue seeking the support of our Parliamentary Representatives and to collect signatures on our petitions. Happy Hunting. Gordon A.
