Halifax Herald February 3, 2005 MacDONALD, Evan Daniel - 17, Marydale, Antigonish Co., died suddenly at home on Tuesday, February 1, 2005. Evan was the son of Daniel Joseph MacDonald, Marydale and Jody A. Schnee MacDonald, Houston, Tex. Besides his parents, he is survived by sister, Brenna Maria MacDonald, Houston, Tex.; and maternal grandmother, Peggy (Schnee) Major, South Dakota; many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much; his very special "Aunt Josie and Uncle Gilbert"; loving neighbour, Mary Purcell; friend, Michelle Walsh, and lifelong best friend, Brennan Steeves. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, William Joseph and Mary Catherine MacDonald; maternal grandfather, Harry Schnee; uncle, Michael Walsh, and best neighbour, Joe Purcell. Evan was a former student of Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School and was currently attending Northumberland Regional High School. Evan was a member of St. Andrew's Parish. He was a thoughtful, caring, outgoing young man with a very inquiring mind who enjoyed all varieties of music and the chance to socialize with friends and family. Evan played hockey, baseball and always looked forward to the chance to enjoy his "love of the outdoors". He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATVing and spending time at the camp with his dad and friends. Evan's philosophy in life was "Love each other, show kindness to each other". Visitation 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral mass 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrew's, Rev. Robert Neville and Rev. Daniel MacDonald officiating. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only by request.
