Halifax Herald February 1, 2005 MacINNIS, Angus R. "Gus", P.Eng. - Hollywood Drive, Moncton, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005, in The Moncton Hospital at the age of 84. Born in 1920 in Georgeville, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late Dan A. and Martha (MacEachern) MacInnis. He was brought up in New Glasgow, and was a graduate of St. John's Academy and New Glasgow High School. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in England and North Africa with the R.C.A.F. He was a graduate of St. F.X. University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Halifax in 1951 with a degree in civil engineering. He joined the C.N. Railway in 1951 at Campbellton, and transferred to C.N.H.Q., Montreal in 1953. He later served at Regional Headquarters, Moncton in the operations and marketing departments, retiring in 1984, as Atlantic Region Manager of Freight Services. He was a long-time member of the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Beaver Curling Club, and former member of the Magnetic Hill Golf Club, member of the St. F.X. Alumni Association, CN War Vets, CN Pensioners Club, CN Supervisor Association, third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9372, Holy Family Parish, Moncton. He is survived by son, Peter (Lucy), Riverview, N.B.; daughters, Susan, Ottawa; Kathleen (Dan) McCrimmon, Vancouver; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, in 1997, the former Constance Hagen (Fort Frances, Ont.); brothers, Alexander, Lauchlin, Leo, Gillis, Donald, Hugh; sisters, Mary, Sarah, Isabel. Visiting hours will be held in Cadman's Funeral Home, 114 Alma St., Moncton, on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., parish prayers will be held in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held in Holy Family Catholic Church, on Thursday, February 3, at 11 a.m., with Father P. McKee officiating. Burial will be held in Alderwood Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 6, will be holding a memorial service in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. For those who desire, donations to Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family. www.cadmansfh.com
