Witnesses to their marriage were Frances Mahany (wife of Samuel, yeoman) of Antigonish Harbor and Alexander Chisholm of “the Manchester Road.” This information is all from a deposition (dated Oct 1864) in Alexander’s Civil War pension file (he did not survive the war). They were married by Bishop Fraser in the Roman Catholic Chapel in Antigonish. They immigrated to Wisconsin in 1846 with Samuel Mahoney and his family. Alexander and Catherine’s children: Daniel, Sarah, Mary, William, Alexander A., John, James and Augustus A.
