He had a son named Lewis from his first marriage. And his second wife's name was Amy. I am trying to make a connection between this Thomas Carpenter and my great great grandfather Thomas J. Carpenter who was born in 1841 in Chemung County, NY. His first wife was named Helen. They had 5 children. They were Mary, George, Amy, Helen and Thomas Jay Carpenter. Thomas Jay Carpenter took the last name Turner. His mother Helen died when he was only 3 weeks old and a family by the name of Turner raised him but never legally adopted him. Thomas J. Carpenter's second wife was Margaret Swartout and they had one child together. He was Frank H. Carpenter. Thomas J. Carpenter and both of his wives are buried in Ridge Cemetery which is also known as Vary Cemetery. If anyone has any information that could help me. I would really appreciate it.
