Chronicle Herald October 27, 2007 MacGILLIVRAY, John Alexander - 73, Lakevale, Antigonish Co., passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on October 26, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish, he was the eldest son of the late John Alex and Margaret (Blackburn) MacGillivray. Johnny was a well-respected carpenter and member of his community. He will be fondly remembered for his sharp wit and unique sense of humour. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy (Falkenham); sons, John "Jackie", Maryvale; Cyril A. (Donna Marie), Truro; Gerard (Karen), Gaspereaux Lake; Melvin (Kathryn), Ballantyne's Cove; Paul (Charlene), Dartmouth; daughter, Bernice (Eraldo) D'Angelo, Burnaby, B.C.; brothers, Cyril, Addington Forks; Leo (Donalda), Antigonish; Vincent (Bobbi), Arisaig; Allan, Arisaig; Tony, Lanark; Kenneth (Kim) and Phillip (Joan), both of Fort St. James, B.C.; sisters, Mary Deschamps, Antigonish; Kathleen Knocton, Heatherton; Florence (Donald) Collins, Antigonish. He was predeceased by brothers, Hughie, Frank, Angus, Colin, Gerald, Douglas and Wayne. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial in the parish cemetery.
