Chronicle Herald October 7, 2007 MacEACHERN, Christena E. "Chrissie" - 86, Highland Drive, Antigonish, passed away suddenly at home on October 4, 2007. Born in Morar, Antigonish Co. on December 7, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Sarah (MacKinnon) Gillis. Chrissie was a member of St. Ninian's Parish and St. Ninian's CWL. She enjoyed playing cribbage, 45's and bingo. She is survived by her devoted and caring children, Darrall, Lower Sackville; Shirley Travers (Raymond), Franklin, Mass; Sharon Kenny (Gary), Fall River; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Brown, Livingstone's Cove; Sally Novak and Florence Smith, Antigonish; Frances Adams, Cambridge, Ont.; Barbara Belanger, Montreal, Que.; brother, Lawrence, Morar; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gillis; son, Carroll; brothers, Andy, Alexander, John, and Bernard in infancy. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held in St. Ninian's Cathedral on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial in the parish cemetery.
