Chronicle Herald October 18, 2007 GILLIS, Andrew C. - 89, Pinevale, Antigonish Co., passed away on October 16, 2007, at home. Born in Pinevale, he was a son of the late Hugh Cameron and Ella (MacInnis) Gillis. Andy was a farmer most of his working life. He also was employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation as a road foreman and as a riveter at Trenton Steel Works. He had a keen interest in politics and hockey. He is survived by daughters, Barbara (Alex) Hodgson, Country Harbour; Brenda (Cecil) Angevine, Big Marsh; Betty King, Pinevale; sons, Andy (Joy) and Jody (Sharon), both of Pinevale; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank, Vancouver. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Francis McKinnon; son, Donald, in infancy; sisters, Mae, Margaret, Jean, Pearl, and Sadie; brothers, Jim, Joe, Duncan, Andrew, and brother, Sylvester, in infancy. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrews with Rev. Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in South River Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
