Mary Margaret MacDONALD was married (50 yrs.) to Donald Christopher MacDONALD, Brierly Brook Halifax Herald September 14, 2004 MacDONALD, Mary Margaret - West Mabou and Braintree, Mass., died after a long illness on September 11, 2004, surrounded by her family. Mary was born in West Mabou, in 1914. She was the daughter of Rory Angus and Mary Anne (MacDougall) MacDonald. She attended school in West Mabou, St. Joseph's Convent, Mabou, Truro Normal School and Mount Saint Vincent, Halifax. She taught school in West Mabou, Colindale and Mt. Young. She also worked for the Braintree School System from which she retired. Mary was a long-standing member of St. Thomas More Parish in Braintree and St. Mary's parish in Mabou. She will always be remembered for her homemade bread, rolls and biscuits, her shiny soft hands, her sweet and gentle nature and her generosity to all with whom she shared life's path. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage and had a great love for the language and music of the Gael. She was married for 50 years to Donald Christopher MacDonald, Brierly Brook, Antigonish Co., and was a devoted mother and friend to her children, Father Bernie R., West Mabou; Dorothy, Braintree, Mass.; Barbara Gingrow of Londonderry, N.H.; Kenneth, Braintree, Mass.; Christopher, Hanson, Mass.; Marjorie MacDonald-Pura, Greenfield, Mass., and Edwin, Quogue, N.Y. She will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 15, from 7-9 p.m. in St. Mary's Church, Mabou.
