At one point, I heard a statistic that obituaries were the most-used parts of newspapers' websites! The Globe (and many other US newspapers) actually contract their obituaries out to legacy.com. They remain online (free) for one year.* After that, they're available for US$3. I just searched for 'Levangie' at http://legacy.com/ and came up with 19 hits from half-a-dozen newspapers. So this is a valuable resource for recent deaths. *The length of time that they're free may vary by newspaper, though.
