    3. Good morning all, I think I finally found my husband's great grandparents living in Tracadie. As you can see below, the head of household name was transcribed as "Peter". In looking at the photo of the original the name looks like "artur" which would be correct(Arthur). However, I don't want to be the victim of wishful thinking, so my question is this: Does anyone know of a family as described below with the head of household being named Peter? It does conflict re death date with Pictou, NS info. I am hoping to find or contact a descendant who may know something of Donald's deathe and family. The researcher only turned up a John and Donalds wife, Mary on decease. I am trying to establish parentage of one Charles Cameron who enlisted at Quebec in 1790 at the tender age of 7, as a Drummer. In 1800 he went to York and settled in Peel County. His youngest chid (of 10 children) died in 1912 and her obit states her ancestors served on the Plains of Abraham. She didn't say grandfather. The only Highland regiment on the Plains of Abraham was the Fraser Highlanders78th. I have checked Muster rolls and there are a number of Camerons. Because of the family info I decided to go with Donald of Fassiefern. It seemed to 'fit'. It had always been thought by the family that 'James' was the name of his father which indicated adherence to the Scottish naming pattern. However with the Clan DNA published, it lists Donald born c 1760 as Charles father. That led me to try to prove it, with no response from that Clan DNA quarter. Also Dr Robert Cameron of Australia, genealogist has a child named John b 1760 in Scotland fathered by Donald. Donald was at Louisbourg and Quebec, (left Scptland 1757) and was not discharged until 1763. Dr. Robert Cameron won't change his info. However there is no proof. So I continue to soldier on. The death date of Pictou County and the Military differ. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
