Hello everyone. My name is Steven DeRoche from Isle Madame, Cape Breton. I have been researching my family tree for a few years now and have compiled a lot on the families of Isle Madame. I had one ancestor living in West Arichat who was supposedly native of Pomquet, but I have been unable to prove it. His name was Joseph Forest (born c1870s). He married Selina Clorey, possibly also from the same area. He also had a well known brother, Charles Forest, who was parish priest here in Petit de Grat and did much for the community. Charles died in 1970, I believe, and is buried next to the parish church. Joseph and Selina may have originated and married in Pomquet, and then again, may have no connection to the region whatsoever. Is anyone familier with the Forest/Clorey names of Antigonish County or does anyone know of where I could find this family? Thank you very much for your time.
