My grandmother's family was Vidito/Videto/Vedeto (various spellings, and a few others I haven't listed) from Annapolis County Nova Scotia. With the help of others I have a pretty good geneaology of the familybeginning shortly after they arrived in Nova Scotia in 1784, apparently as Loyalists. Research indicates that a John Videto and family arrived in Nova Scotia in 1784 but there is a slight disagreement on the who the next generation was, with some records listing a Justus Videto and others not listing him. I am wondering if anyone there might be able to shed some light on this mystery as it will otherwise remain a matter of conjecture and debate for the extended family. Also, is it possible that anyone can give me any information on whether the loyalist John was a soldier or sailor in the Revolution or whether he was simply a civilian loyalist. We have little or no information on him or where he actually came from before migrating north. Any help will be most appreciated.
