To all:- Today is one that is filled with varied activities - some which interest many readers. Parliament --with all its pomp and pageantry -- resumes with a Speech from the Throne given by The Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, Governor-General at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The Opening of Parliament will be on national television. Believe me, what one may see on television today is not the regular working habits of the House of Commons. Although we do not have an active census bill at present, we need to remind our Members of Parliament we desire and need the 1911 Canadian census records -- hopefully these will soon be transferred to National Archives. http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Index6.htm Also, who knows if Wiarton Willie or another groundhog in some other area will predict more winter or an early spring -- today should be a day of contrasts!!
