    3. Mary Anne William married Rebecca Lavina Hodges, she is brother of my great-great grandfather Jonathan Hodges. I have Rebecca b 31 Jan 1840, d 1927, m 1865 to William B. McKeown b 27 Aug 1845, Annapolis Co, d 1936. They are buried at Pine Grove, Middleton, NS. I have just starting finding the kids. I have Minnie B b 1867, Hattie A. b 1869, and Charles b 7 Aug 1879, so far. Rebecca and family were in the 1881 census at Clarence, Annapolis NS. William was listed as a farmer, with the family's religion as Baptist and ethnic origin Irish. They were also in the 1901 census with Minnie B. and Charles. I believe that Rebecca is d/o Jonathan Hodges b. about 1799, d 1869, and Ruth __?__, b 1800. I found an item (extract of will) where Stephen Taylor lists his children, including Ruth Hodges. Ruth and Jonathan also had a son (apparently) named Stephen Taylor Hodges, so it is a pretty reasonable guess that this could be Ruth's father. I have all of Jonathan's children (Rebecca's siblings) and spouses, if you are interested. I have not found Jonathan senior's parents. I do know that there is, in the same area and time, a Jonathan C. Hodges, who also had a son Jonathan C, and lots of other children, and it is taking a while to sort out who belongs to which Jonathan Sr. My mother had a letter written in 1951 written by her great aunt Etha Hodges, who was reminiscing about Nova Scotia. She said that "Aunt Becky lived on the post road to Lawrencetown, about 12 miles west, or southwest, of Middleton. Her name was McKeown, we called it "McKween". Like Hodges, it was a Scotch-Irish name." She said that in the 1890s, the (Annapolis) valley was famous for apples, which were shipped everywhere. I think (from internet research) that William McKeown is s/o John McKeown and Sarah Ann Whitman, but since this is not an actual ancestor of mine, I haven't researched that name except for where it connected into Hodges. I don't have original records for most of my information, but have working from Internet resources such as FamilySearch.org and Rootsweb, as well as the Kings Co and Annapolis Co Gen Web sites. No guarantees as to the accuracy, but most of this is "probable". Let me know if you want more information on Rebecca's siblings and their spouses.
