    1. [ANNAPOLIS] Your, New host for Annapolis List
    2. C.Joudrey
    3. Hello Listers, I am Christine Joudrey, your new list Admin for Annapolis County, I reside in Guelph Ontario, but know your area of searches very well. I have taken over from your outgoing list Admin John. I, as well as the rest of the listers am sure, wish John a speedy recovery, I certainly hope I can fill John's shoes! A little bit about myself, I lived in the Annapolis Valley, for fourteen years, Kingston to be exact, my husband was in the Canadian Military, stationed in Greenwood. Was fourteen years well spent, in a beautiful area. I worked for Canada Post, and know a lot of the smaller places, also I am familiar with a lot the names that have their roots in Annapolis. The genealogy bug hit me four years ago now. I am Scottish born, and the intrigue of my married name took me on my quest. I thought my married name Joudrey was going to be very hard, but no, was so easy... had been extensively researched,it is a South Shore name, but a lot of where my Joudrey's came from in Lunenburg County, they neighboured on Annapolis County. I knew all the placenames but did not really realize the connection they had to me, some of the places criss-crossed each other. To have researched this was amazing, I can visualise places now, that I travelled through many a time. I still have ties to the area, and visit once a year, during the summer. If I can do anything to help anyone researching this area I will, just ask! For the time being I am going to leave things the way John has everything set up, he has it set up so well that it should run as smooth as ever. What I would appreciate though, is what is called a roll call, just an introduction of who you are, where you are, and what you are looking for. I have been through the archives but have not read everything. To me no question is trivial, nor any tale trivial, so please post your stories. Please, if you have something to say of a personal nature, or an objection about a poster, please do not do it via the list, please do it to me privately, my address will be included below. Remember we are all here to help, not hinder, or make someone feel bad, a genealogical question is never to silly to ask, we were all new at this once upon a time. Hope this lets you get to know me a little better, and if there is something you want to know about me.....ask! Christine Joudrey ccaej@sympatico.ca

    3. Hello Luella and John I believe I'm related to the Cresses ... would that name be a derivative of Kraus, Crouse? I'm looking into my connections to: (mostly in the Clements Bear River area) Pulley (Pulhi) Rosencranz, (from Barbara Ann b. early 1800s) - "Hessian" Apt, (Opt, Haupt?) - "Hessian" Morine Blackadar Pine, (Pyne) De Molitor, DeMolidor, Molitor - from Hessian Capt Christian Theodor Sigismund von Molitor in John's book "Hessian" Aymar (Eymar - loyalists from New York) John, your book has been most helpful.
