Posting may be forwarded To all:- We must remember that not all people are "computerized", but like myself, enjoy reading newspapers. I am giving two sites -- one is the Queens County Times, a real ONLINE newspaper, changed weekly by Mary Mouzar. Believe it or not, Mary lives within shouting distance of where I was born. Queens Shore Times http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/mouzar/queenscountytimes/page2/page2.html In this great paper, you will find most everything, including contacts to the PAPER newspapers, plus local activities in and near Liverpool. Letters to the Editor might be the best way to educate the readers during the period before Parliament begins in October, as we now learn. There is a great deal of information which may be copied at http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/ The site is in both English and French -- this will be your choice. The following site is in provinces, and on every newspaper there should be "Contact" or "Letters to the Editor" Canadian Newspapers http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/canada.htm The letter may be as long as you desire -- editors are known to shorten items to save space in the newspaper. You must give YOUR complete address or the item will not be printed -- however, you may request your address not be used -- privacy laws!! We desire petitions for Senate, House of Commons and Non-Resident with downloadable petitions available from the site above. However, this poses a problem if the reader does not have a computer!! Should any person willing to write to his or her newspaper, try reading the printed letters to learn the approved style -- newspapers are different! The first paragraphs should contain the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHY, WHERE, and HOW -- always give the main subjects in the first two or three paragraphs -- subjects could be:- 1. Non-restrictive release of the 1911 Canadian census records 2. Petitions for release of 1911 census records 3. Letters to elected Members of Parliament in Canada -- their view http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Index6.htm Please contact either Gordon or myself if you desire help -- privately!!! Let's spread the news of the non-release of the 1911 census records!! Muriel M.
