Does everyone know about the Automated Genealogy site at http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/index.html This is basically an index to the 1901 Canada census - I found it a while back but haven't seen many references to it in other queries. There are different ways to search, but a simple way is just by last name (remember the various spelling possibilities), and then by first name. If you find the name in the index, a click will take you to the actual image. This index has the name, location, marital status, family relationship, and DOB. Susan
