Hello List Members, I understand a lot of Marshalls resided in Annapolis County during its long history. There were very few Marshalls in Hants County but my g-g-grandfather was one of them. Mathew Marshall, b. 1811, d. 1872, lived in South Maitland, Hants Co., where he was a blacksmith with his son Abraham. Try as I may, I have been unable to determine who Mathew's father was. The thought crossed my mind that perhaps Mathew originated in Annapolis County and simply moved to Hants County. Would anyone researching Marshalls in Annapolis Co. have a Mathew Marshall in their family history who suddenly disappeared? Thank you for checking. George Marshall marshag@rogers.com

I checked our book on the Marshalls and I could not find any Mathew's. There were also a group that came to Pictou Co. and another one that is an Alexander Marshall that arrived in Annapolis County that doeanot seem to be related to the others. I do not have a copy of that family here at home. Luella
