To all:- Since I posted last evening's request for LETTERS, not emails, I have received many notes. I do not desire to start a virus discussion, but emails are able to carry "those pesky creatures" to Parliament Hill, as well as to our personal computers. Letters do not carry viruses -- and hand-written ones are often read first. One query concerned "stateside" people desiring Canadian census records -- they are invited to write letters -- but do have to pay postage -- unless they live near the Canadian border and can cross over and mail in Canada. Find the riding or area where relatives lived:- MPs -- http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Index6.htm Senators - http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Senscore1.htm [Both sites are in English and French] IF replies are received, we request these be copied to us, with date of reply -- this will be posted on the scoreboard -- and we may get rid of some of those BLUE ??? Please do NOT mention Bill S-13 -- the politicians know all about it. We desire UNRESTRICTED access to 1911 and later records, available to us 92 years after enumeration, according to present law. Immediate transfer should be made from Statistics Canada to National Archives, without any extra attached conditions. Grab the pen and ink -- OR computer, but make certain YOUR signature is hand-written, with complete name and address, postal code and even telephone number. Addresses:- MPs:- NAME, House of Commons, Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6 Senators - NAME, Senate of Canada, Ottawa, ON K1A 0A4 [Titles are available under the names on the scoreboard] Have fun, remember -- ONE page -- longer ones are not read!
