    1. [ANNAPOLIS] white family history
    2. Does anyone have info regarding an Andrew White family in Granville. He was granted land in 1765 and supposedly was a New England Planter. I have done research on an Andrew White in Sudbury, Ma. married to a Sarah Raleigh in 1759. Evidence is circumstantial but think they may be the same person. Judy

    3. Thanks for letting me know, but unfortunately all I know is that Jasper Williams was born in Wales and came to Annapolis Co, Nova Scotia about 1790. He was born in 1769. I dont know where in Wales and that makes it hard to find anything. Thanks for your help though. 3. I am also interested in the Williams family. I am looking for information on my great-grandmother, Isabella Williams, who married Ansley Elliott on Nov. 24, 1869 and lived in Port George, Nova Scotia until her death in 3 Oct 1900. According to the marriage certificate Isabella was born in Canada (present day Ontario or Quebec?). Her parents were John and Julia Williams. We think that she may have gone to school in Westport, Nova Scotia. The children of Isabella and Ansley were: Annie Elliott m. Leonard Schafner Samuel Elliott Lucina (Lou) Elliott m. Mr. Vroom and Mr. Perry Bessie Bell Elliott m. George Reagh Frank Elliott m. Ella M. Chipman (my grandparents) Joseph Elliott Thomas Elliott m. Ida Young Lizzie Elliott m. John Anderson I am particularly interested in any information about Isabella's background. Where she was born and anything about her parents/ancestry. If you can provide any assistance, I would be very grateful. Jason and Tammy Sacerty wrote: > I started researching my family tree about 2 years ago. 3. Hi all, I'm new to the list and am researching the Banks, Chesley, Fitch and Rumsey families. I have done quite well with the Rumsey and Chesley families going back to the first of these names to come to Annapolis County. I am having trouble with the Banks and Fitch lines however. This is what I have so far: James E. Rumsey m. Josephine Banks (d/o Samuel N. and Dorothy Banks) Anyone know who Samuel Banks' father is? Samuel was born ca 1814. Amon Percival Rumsey m. Azuba Fitch (d/o George Freeman Fitch s/o Handley E. Fitch) Does anyone know who the father of Handley E. Fitch is? Handley E. was born ca 1816. I do have quite a bit of Banks information, but I just can't connect it to Samuel Banks yet. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Cheers, Anne Geall -- Outgoing mail scanned by Norton AntiVirus

    3. Hi Cindy, Thank you for your kind offer. I am looking for family information on an Etta May Milbury who married Robert Burns. I believe that her father was Charles Milbury who married a Lizzie [surname unk.] I found some info regarding the family in the 1901 census for Hampton. But I am not sure that this is the Etta May who married Robert. Would you have further info regarding the family of Charles?? thanks, SueB.

    2. Charles S. Wackerman
    3. My grandmother's family was Vidito/Videto/Vedeto (various spellings, and a few others I haven't listed) from Annapolis County Nova Scotia. With the help of others I have a pretty good geneaology of the familybeginning shortly after they arrived in Nova Scotia in 1784, apparently as Loyalists. Research indicates that a John Videto and family arrived in Nova Scotia in 1784 but there is a slight disagreement on the who the next generation was, with some records listing a Justus Videto and others not listing him. I am wondering if anyone there might be able to shed some light on this mystery as it will otherwise remain a matter of conjecture and debate for the extended family. Also, is it possible that anyone can give me any information on whether the loyalist John was a soldier or sailor in the Revolution or whether he was simply a civilian loyalist. We have little or no information on him or where he actually came from before migrating north. Any help will be most appreciated. 2. Brian Maye
    3. Hi List, I am a 'lurker' at the moment as I have so little information to go on that I just have to hope that something turns up. I am interested in any information on the families of a Catherine GOLDSMITH who was married to an Owen LYNCH. I do not know for certain that they were natives of Nova Scotia but their daughter Suzannah LYNCH ( born c1832) married 1 January 1852 at Annapolis John PATERSON who was in a detachment of the 42nd Regiment (Black Watch) stationed there. They left soon after that for England where John went off to fight in the Crimean War. This family eventually migrated to Australia. The LYNCHES in Nova Scotia may have had a sheep farm according to oral tradition. Suzannah was reputed to be an excellent horsewoman. There may have been connections with Boston in USA according to oral tradition. Suzannah was supposed to have had a relative who had a glassworks in a place called Copelands (? William Lynch Glassworks) in USA. Can anyone shed some light on any of these people please. Anne MAYE.
