Hi John, There is a book on Annapolis County which I am sure will have the history of the Troop family. I believe the auther is CALNEK [ something like that]. I am most interested in the TROOP family. Did they come from England? If so where in England. Or was it Ireland? I am a descendant of Judith Foster daughter of Benjamin. I am interested in info of other children in this family. As for Reginald, Jacob and Isaac check out the Dean Payne Joyce website. It is terrific with loads of info on early settlers in certain areas of Mass. Everything for the Foster family is there. Just look for the surname listings. http://babbage.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/report Susan
Eugene:- I am not certain if my uncle, Charles Wishart Barnes belonged to your family, and if so, his last son, Donald Barnes passed away about two months ago. Donald's wife died last August, and both are buried together at St. George's Anglican Church Cemetery, Head of St. Margaret's Bay. Muriel M. Dear Muriel: I thank you for your reply. I wish we had more information on Spencer Barnes and his family. Could your man have been related to him? If you could give me a bit more on your side I might be able to make the connection. Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: "Muriel M. John: Not really an answer to your question, But the following entry appears in the Christian Messenger. July 23, 1879 - Deaths- West Brooklyn, Wilmot, July 10th. Rupert L., son of Isaac Moore, aged 12 years.
I have information on the above 5 generations of the Foster family as in "A Research aid for the Families of.................Annapolis/Digby Counties" compiled by Wayne W. Does anyone have Isaac Moore on their family tree? Born 31 January 1836, Nova Scotia, married Louisa Foster; listed on 1881 census in Middleton Corner with wife and 8 children (G. Bligh, Acheelah, Elizabeth, Elba W., Isabelle, Truman, Rosette, and Mary). On 1901 census under "Moir" not Moore. He died 30 Oct. 1915, age 78, is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton, Cty. of Annapolis. Would like his date and place of marriage; also searching for his ancestry.
We would appreciate a posting of the 5 generations of the Surname Foster as found "A Research Aid... as compiled by Mr. Walker. Hi Luella.....just happened to see your message, and had to laugh at the remark made about Victory. It certainly has not been abandoned....lots of people live there. I don't have the message you are replying to but vaguely remember writer mentioning a "specific" settlement area of Victory (or maybe just outside Victory) which might have been abandoned. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know. Actually there is a Marshall genealogy compiled by Ina Oliver and my self that is going into a reprint and put out by the Annapolis Heritage Center. It is at the printers at this time . Also you mentioned your wife was a Wagner, not part of the Falkland Ridge Wagners as they come into my Starratts that is being launched on July 21 at IDELL in annapolis Royal. Also my several great grand mother was a Keddy from Chelsea, who married Samuel Gillmore. I did not realize that Victory was abandoned, I thought people still lived there. Luella
Thankyou very much Luella. George's brother Willard "Tom" is my wife's uncle. He drowned along with two others in Lake Mugrave, Victory. I am gathering information on Victory to donate to the Annapolis Royal Genealogy Centre. Have you ever heard of that now abandoned community? BTW my wife is a Wagner. Her maternal grandmother is a Keddy. Many years ago we visited Marshall cousins back of Lawrencetown. Can anyone confirm that the George Rosencrantz b. March 6 1858 (s/o John Rosencrantz and Elizabeth Townsend) married after 1902 Susanna "Louisa" Darres b. June 4 1869 (d/o Alfred Darres and Susannah Elizabeth Nowe)? I have two George's recorded, one single and the other married to Susanna. Susanna's first marriage was to Jacob 'Nelson' Campbell 29 June 1885, Victory, N.S. Thanks, Les

This is to help those doing gen work and reduce their vulnerbility to viruses. I apologize if I am stepping on anyone's toes. Most of you, like me, download information that you find on the internet. I am sure most of you use Word to save your data BUT when you are on the internet, opening Word is very dangerous - most viruses are written to attack MS software which Word is. To protect yourself, minimize your vulneribility, you should use another software. I have been using Note Tab Light for several months and it is perfect for those who need to download large volumes of data. Note Tab Light is a variation of Notetab but far more power- ful. A Note Tab Light file can accept almost as much data as Word and it is free! Yes, you can buy the more powerful version but I have found the 'light' version more than sufficient. There is a learning curve but it is very small. Note Tab Light will not replace Word - it is just another tool for you to consider. If you think this might be useful to you, the following link will take you to the website where you can down load Note Tab Light - be aware that this site also offers other Note Tab software that is for sale but, as I said, the Note Tab Light is free. http://www.notetab.com/ Karl karlme@earthlink.net
