    1. Help/New to Canadian Research: Brown/Sullivan in Fredericton mid-1800s
    2. Ilse Martin O'Brien
    3. Hello! I am new to Canadian research and would appreciate any help you could give me. I just recently broke through a brick wall in one branch of my tree and discovered that my great-great-grandmother was born in Fredericton, N.B. She was Ellen (Sullivan) Brown, who died at about age 90 in 1916 in Boston. Ellen would have been in Boston from about 1845, after the death of her husband Thomas Brown and the birth of her daughter Elizabeth Jane Brown. She may have been back to Ireland to get married, etc, but her death certificate lists place of birth as Fredericton, N.B. and her parents names as THOMAS and ANN SULLIVAN. How can I go about finding out more? Are there census records in the 1840s that might have the Sullivan family listed? Or can I search for her birth record only knowing an approximate year range? (1820-1830) Thanks for any help you can provide. -- ilse martin o'brien boston, ma
